Wrapping a netbook with 3M carbon fiber-look vinyl Video

This shows the process of covering the lid of my Acer Aspire One netbook (tiny laptop PC) with 3M carbon fiber-look vinyl wrap.

This was my first time trying this. It went a little slowly, but came out pretty good, I think!

@hardheadedparanoia The longer it's stuck on there, the harder it? is for the adhesive to come off cleanly. When it's fresh it's pretty easy to get it off without leaving residue.

@PancakePlease It would certainly be? possible to do cutouts as you describe, but it would be a lot more work and it would risk looking sloppy if you didn't do it perfectly.

Nice. It would ve looked nicer IMO if you left the vinyl on the blue top bar that has the indicator lights and cut out small holes for the lights. Looks kind of discontinuous but just my opinion. How does it look when you open the laptop and look at the screen? Are there any? pieces of vinyl wrapped around the front or sticking out? Would this be doable on the handrest and inside of the laptop (cut out around the trackpad and keyboard)?

@MegaMachelp That depends, but the longer it's on? there the harder it will be to remove. When it's freshly applied it's easy to remove.

@Masonz94 Yes, a hair dryer will do. I can't really tell you about how well it'll stick? to your case, but it would be easy enough to take a small piece of the wrap and test it.

@bigbassdave? You are heating the wrap, not the object being wrapped. The phone won't get that hot.
